Kommo leads to WhatsApp: welcome and thank-you
When a new lead comes into Kommo, ChatSales welcomes them on WhatsApp from your number. When the lead reaches the won stage, it thanks them for the purchase.
WhatsAppHi Ana, thanks for contacting Casa Norte. We received your request and we're writing here to help. How can we support you?
Sample data. Shown in English: your customers get the Mexican Spanish template.
How it works
- A new lead comes into your Kommo.
- ChatSales messages them on WhatsApp with a welcome from your number, using a Meta-approved template.
- When the lead reaches "Closed - won", it sends a thank-you message.
- In Activity you see every message and whether it went out (or why not).
Use cases
This is the message your customers get, in three kinds of business. Sample data; customers receive the Mexican-Spanish template.

What it does and doesn't do
| ✅ It can | 🚫 It can't |
|---|---|
| Welcome every new lead in Kommo on WhatsApp, from your ChatSales number, within minutes. | Message leads whose contact has no phone in Kommo. |
| Thank the customer when you move their lead to "Closed - won". | Write about leads created hours ago or imported in bulk (only fresh leads are welcomed). |
| Register the webhook in Kommo for you (nothing to paste) and remove it if you disconnect. | Change leads, stages or contacts: it only reads them and manages its own webhook. |
| If Kommo already chats with that lead on WhatsApp, turn off "New lead" to avoid two messages. |
🔐 Kommo's long-lived token acts with the rights of the administrator who created it. ChatSales stores it encrypted and only uses it to read leads and contacts and to create or remove its webhook. You can revoke it any time in Kommo (the integration's Authorization tab).
Set up in 3 steps
- Turn on Kommo in the ChatSales App Store.
- Paste your Kommo address and a long-lived token (you must be an administrator on the Advanced plan or higher): ChatSales registers its own webhook in your account, nothing to paste in Kommo.
- Review the messages and switch off any you don't want.
The message your customer gets
ChatSales creates this template in Mexican Spanish and submits it to Meta; here is what it says, in English (you can pick another approved flow):
What you need
You need:
A WhatsApp API number connected in ChatSales (Connect your WhatsApp). These messages are the first contact with someone who has not written to you, so WhatsApp only allows them with a Meta-approved template.
To be an admin of your ChatSales team and have access to your Kommo account.
Rules that protect your number
So a public form can't be used to make your number write to strangers: one message per number every 24 h, and at most 60 per hour and 300 per day per app. Anything over the limit stays in Activity with the reason.
Numbers without a country code are treated as Mexican (+52) by default. If you get contacts from other countries, turn it off under Connection and we only message numbers with "+code".
Add a consent line to your form (for example "I agree to be contacted on WhatsApp"): WhatsApp requires people to agree to receive messages from your business.
Frequently asked questions
Does Kommo integrate with WhatsApp?
Yes. With ChatSales: Every new Kommo lead gets your WhatsApp message right away. You turn it on from the ChatSales App Store in 3 steps, with your WhatsApp API number.
Which Kommo plan do I need?
Advanced or higher, and administrator access: Kommo only allows webhooks via API on those plans.
Does it message old or imported leads?
No. Only freshly created leads with a phone on their contact.
What if Kommo already chats with the lead on WhatsApp?
Then switch off the "New lead" message so they don't get two.
Are there limits?
One message per number every 24 hours, and up to 60 an hour and 300 a day. The welcome is a Marketing category template.
